Match history

This tool runs entirely in your browser; your data is never sent to a server.

    How to use

    1. 1Pick the game and format (1 v 1 or 2 v 2) and add players.
    2. 2After each game choose the sides, the result (A won / draw / B won) and optionally the score, then save.
    3. 3Follow ratings, games played, win percentage and streaks on the leaderboard.
    4. 4Export the league as JSON as a backup or import it on another computer.

    How the Elo rating works

Everyone starts at 1000. Before each game the expected score is E = 1 / (1 + 10^((opponent − your rating) / 400)); afterwards the new rating = old rating + K × (result − E), with a win worth 1, a draw 0.5 and a loss 0. Beating a stronger player earns a lot, beating a weaker one only a little, and the points come from the loser. The default K is 32; FIDE chess uses 40 for new players, 20 for established players and 10 above 2400. Changing K recalculates the whole history.

    2 v 2 games: foosball and padel

In doubles a side’s rating is the average of its two players, and both partners gain or lose the same points. That way an individual ladder still forms even when partners change every game. Choosing padel or foosball switches the format to 2 v 2 automatically; you can change it at any time.

    Fixing mistakes and backing up

Delete a wrongly entered game from the history and every rating is recalculated from the start in order. Data is stored in your browser, so if the ladder runs on a shared office machine, use “Export JSON” now and then; “Import JSON” restores or moves the league to another device.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I set up an office ping pong league?

Add the players and log every result. Elo needs no fixture list: anyone can play anyone at any time and the ladder stays fair.

Why does everyone start at 1000?

The starting value is just a reference point; what matters is the gap. A 400-point gap means the stronger player is expected to win about 91% of the time.

    What K-factor should I use?

In leagues with few games, 32–40 lets the ladder settle quickly; with lots of games, 16–24 gives a steadier table.

    Can I record a draw?

Yes. For games where draws happen, such as chess or EA FC, choose “Draw”; it counts as half a point.
