This tool runs entirely in your browser; your data is never sent to a server.

How to use

  1. 1Enter the pitch fee and any extras such as a ball, drinks or a referee, and choose how to round each share.
  2. 2Add players and set each one’s status (In / Maybe / Out) and a skill level from 1 to 5.
  3. 3Tick “Paid” as money comes in; collected and outstanding totals update instantly.
  4. 4Press “Split teams” for balanced sides, then copy the text or tap “Share on WhatsApp”.

How the cost per player is worked out

The pitch fee and all extras are added up and divided only by the players marked “In”; Maybe and Out don’t count. For example, £72 pitch hire + £6 for water = £78; split between 12 players that is £6.50 each. With rounding on, the share is always rounded up (to the nearest 1, 5, 10…) so the kitty never comes up short, and any small surplus can go towards next week’s ball or bibs.

Balanced teams and a ready-made message

Team splitting uses only the players who are in: they are sorted by skill and each goes to the side with the fewest players and the lowest total skill. Split 10 players into two teams for five-a-side, or into three for a winner-stays-on rotation. The share text includes the game details, total and per-person cost, the in / maybe / out lists, who has paid and the teams. The WhatsApp link carries no phone number, so you choose the group yourself.

Where is the data stored?

The list, costs and teams are saved only in this browser (localStorage), so next week the squad is already there. Names and amounts are never sent to a server. There is no sync between phones; the organiser simply keeps the list on their own device.

Frequently asked questions

How do you split the cost of a five-a-side pitch?

Add the pitch fee and extras, then divide by the number of players who are actually playing. The tool does this automatically and can round each share up to a convenient amount.

Do “Maybe” players pay?

No. Only players marked “In” are counted; when someone confirms, change their status and the share is recalculated straight away.

How do I keep track of who has paid?

Tick the “Paid” box next to each player. Collected and outstanding totals appear at the top and paid players are marked in the share text.

Are the teams balanced by ability?

Yes. Give everyone a skill level from 1 to 5; “Split teams” keeps the total skill of each side close and tries a different balanced combination each time you press it.
